Fees & Policies

Understanding the practical details of counselling can be helpful when deciding whether to get started. Below, you'll find information about fees, payment, extended health benefits, and cancellation policies. If you don't find what you're looking for here, you may also find helpful information on the Frequently Asked Questions page.

Counselling Fees

50-minute, individual counselling — $175

80-minute, individual counselling — $280

Counselling services are exempt from sales tax, so there are no additional taxes added to the fees listed above.

Payment

Payment is processed securely through Jane following each session. All major credit cards are accepted.

Extended Health Benefits

Many extended health benefit plans provide coverage for services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). Coverage varies between plans, so clients are encouraged to confirm their coverage and reimbursement amount with their insurance provider before beginning counselling.

Sarah provides receipts that can be submitted to your extended health provider for reimbursement.

Cancellation Policy

Sarah understands that plans can change. 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations or changes to an appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments, are charged at the full session fee.

Emergencies and extenuating circumstances are considered on a case-by-case basis. If something unexpected arises, please email Sarah to discuss your situation.

Reduced Rate Counselling

Sarah offers a limited number of sliding-scale spots to help make counselling more accessible. All sliding-scale spots are currently full.

If cost is a barrier to accessing counselling, the Affordable Therapy Network may be a helpful resource for finding therapists who offer reduced-rate counselling.
